For Volume 2 of the Heightened series – we’re delighted to be able to welcome Pixl & Peeb for their 7th Storey Projects bow.

Based in the North of England, these guys have been steadily making a name for themselves over the last few years with releases on such important imprints as Future Retro, Over/Shadow, AKO Beatz, Wilderness, and Pixl’s own fabulous Loop Progression label.

In keeping with the Heightened series’ ethos – the mood here is dark, Peeb himself states that these tunes are the darkest they have ever produced as a duo.

On the A side is ‘The Last Midnight’, replete with sharp Amen edits, eerie, sweeping pads and a distinctive stepping snare that gives the track bags of character.

Flip it over and you have ‘Dancefloor Conversations’ on the B side, another excursion into the darker reaches, with ominously brooding atmospherics and uber-rugged drum programming.

Two cuts that fit the Heightened remit perfectly, and a banging 7th Storey Projects debut from Pixl & Peeb.
